Always plan for the purchases that you need and those that you want. You need the essentials, and you want everything else. If it is just something you want then pay cash or just wait until you can afford it.

Unless it is an emergency, staying within your credit limits will help you a great deal.

Think about if you can really afford the payment before you buy, not after you are late on your car payment or mortgage.

Dont’s

Do not use your credit card to make big house hold purchases. It’s expensive in the long run. Try saving up for it, it won’t kill you to wait a little while.

Do not just pay the minimal amount. Always pay just a little more, at least. You will end up paying exorbitant interest. The quicker you clear the debt the better.

Do not use the credit card to purchase things you can’t afford. You have to think.
